International Women's Day - Accelerate Action for Women's Equality
A special International Women's Day celebration is happening in Neustadt on March 5, ahead of the official International Women’s Day on March 8. The event, a networking opportunity and celebration of women in business, is organized by six local municipalities in partnership with Connecting Women of Wellington and Saugeen Area, Saugeen Connects, and SEDC.
It will take place at the Neustadt Community Hall from 6-9 p.m. The evening will feature inspiring guest speakers, including keynote speaker Melanie Needham. Tickets are $30 and include a full dinner, with a licensed cash bar available. Tickets can be purchased online eventbrite.
Advancing Women Economically (AWE) Loan
The Saugeen Connects/SEDC Advancing Women Economically (AWE) loan product was developed to assist women entrepreneurs that face the following barriers: are older, that are clients of social services, are disabled or indigenous. This loan product was designed to address the needs of this targeted segment of women.
It is our hope that through this product we can provide women in the Saugeen Connects catchment area with help assessing and acquiring the skills required to build and sustain a successful business, develop more confidence and be provided with support to overcome a good portion of the barriers they face. Saugeen Connects strives to support women in business and the AWE Loan product can be used to achieve this.

Webinar Series

We are welcoming applicants for the FREE AWE Webinar Series running from March to May. This 10 week series aims to help women acquire the skills required to build and sustain a successful business, and develop more confidence. The series begins by attending our March 5th International Women's Day Event from 6-9pm, approved applicants will receive a free ticket. The workshop sessions are virtual and take place on Wednesdays from 11:00am to 12:30pm, compensation may be available should you experience any barriers to attend the webinars. The series concludes with our Networking Luncheon on Friday May 9th.
